The sun split in half,
and rose spilled out of it.
Its pink hues smudged
its harsh, fiery edges.
In your drawing of the sky,
you scribbled past the blurred lines,
no fear clouding your eyes,
a wandering spirit who no longer cried.
Your fingers sewed together a universe
with cerulean skies,
oceans speckled with multicoloured lives,
so far and so wide.
You ignored the ache in your arm
as you attached diamonds to the stars,
each unique
and gleaming,
reflecting all that would soon come to be.
My neck craned as I tried to take in
the world you created just for you and me.
