Better on Paper

Everything I see eventually becomes a poem

A day’s breeze

The breeze tickled my skin,

I ran ahead on a whim,

Full of wonder, utter delight

No time to think, just take flight.

I grinned, my heart knocking around my chest,

The warm scent of pine in the trees,

The grass crunching beneath my feet

A bee buzzing too close-

But not once did my mind turn toward unease.
